  • We've stayed in Rose Cottage a few times now and it never fails to delight us, it's immaculate! Jill and Graham are the perfect hosts and really know how to make us feel very welcome and have thought of everything to make the cottage perfect. The surrounding countryside is stunning, the wildlife is a joy. We love it. It is close enough to the M1 and has several pubs close by for a bite to eat. We'll be back soon.

  • A beautiful cottage, furnished to a high standard in an excellent location. Jill and Graham are fantastic hosts too. What more could you want?

  • The content of the other reviews are 100% accurate. The cottage provides a standard of accommodation far beyond anything I have stayed in over the past 40 years in the South Yorkshire area. Having friends and family close and not so close by we have stayed in a variety of cottages and hotels in South Yorks but this one is top of the list. Recently refurbished to a very high standard it is everything one would want. Take walking shoes or boots to enjoy the surrounding area. Local pub the Bridge Inn serves lovely home cooked food. Thanks to Jill and Graham for setting and achieving such high standards of customer satisfaction, both of you could teach other hotel and cottage owners what customer service is all about!

  • First of all - Jill and Graham are the best hosts ever. Friendly and helpful where needed. But you don´t need help because everything was perfect (even the weather:)) A really very nice and quite cottage next to Sheffiled at the boundarys of the lovely Peak District. The cottage is cosy, beautiful furnished and equipped with everything you wish and need. Inn/pub is within walking distance, large supermarket is within ten minutes by car in Penistone. Great walks can be started directly from the cottage. Don´t forget to visit Castlelton and Hope next to MamTor. Even Manchester, York or Fountains Abbey are only about one hour away (by car). Is there anything Jill and Graham could do better? No, it´s already perfect.

  • Graham and Gill were very helpful, friendly and lovely people. The cottage was perfect just beautiful inside and outside. The gardens were very well maintained to a high standard. We really felt at home whilst staying there. My daughter is 11 years old and she has said she wants to return again next year. The ducks met us at the door each morning. It was exactly how the pictures show it to be.

  • You will not find a cleaner, more comfy, idyllic cottage in Sheffield. It is the most peaceful and welcoming cottage. Jill & Graham were the most fabulous hosts and did everything to make our stay special, they went out of their way to be in to receive a urgent parcel before we were due to arrive and were on hand with a screwdriver when we needed it! It was really like visiting family, they were friendly and approachable and gave us places to visit, go to Bramfield which is nearby a d has the most amazing views! We would recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to explore South Yorkshire and indeed those that would use it as a base to tour the North! Lots of lovely garden and wildlife to explore too!

  • My daughter and I spend a wonderful week here this September. The cottage is very clean and comfortable with everything you might need. It is located close to the city of Sheffield and the Derbyshire countryside which we wanted to visit in our vacation. I don't think I will ever stay in Hotels again after this great experience. • Hidden away in an rural and historical part of the area which birthed the Industrial revolution in Britain, this delightful little cottage has everything one could need. Helpful owners and lots of greenery and wildlife. We came away with our batteries charged and smiles on all our faces.

  • Graham and Jill make you very welcome to this little bungalow in a pleasant wooded valley just outside Thurgoland north of Sheffield. The accommodation is well furnished and decorated and everything was spotlessly clean. We particularly enjoyed the peace and quiet and had a very relaxing short stay. The booking process via TripAdvisor/Holiday Lettings was a bit clunky but worth flogging through for a charming property.

  • We wanted a peaceful location to stay and it had to be not far away from our son who lives in Darton and we found Rose Cottage. What a find! it is truly a lovely place to stay. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you need in fact we didn't use half of what was there. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and the added bonus is the wildlife around. I would definitely recommend Rose Cottage.

  • We were looking for a place for two couples to stay comfortably while visiting family in the Sheffield area. This was the perfect spot. The location is private and idyllic. A quintessential English garden setting complete with ducklings on the path in the morning. The cottage is newer and nicely updated and furnished. Very clean and comfortable. The gated entry ensures privacy and security. The hosts were outstanding. They were very eager to see to anything we needed, even running out to get an extra fan for us for the unusually hot weather. The local area is charming. A close drive to Sheffield and less than an hour from Leeds. You do need your own car because it's out in the country but you will be glad you are there and not in Sheffield. The hosts recommended a local pub and garden shop which were both lovely. I can't say enough about this rental. Superb.

  • My husband, son and myself have just stayed here for the two nights of 21 and 22 June, to get away from it all and for my birthday. This was an excellent cottage in a beautiful location - it was secluded so very peaceful and quiet. The owners were very helpful and attentive and provided everything you could need. The cottage had a lovely feel about it and the decor and furnishings were lovely. I would recommend this cottage to anyone.
